Tiffany Blue Craftsman

This historic Craftsman home was completely refreshed to better support modern living while preserving its warmth and character. The project touched nearly every room in the house, introducing new flooring, updated windows, and a brighter, more open interior. By carefully reworking walls and circulation, previously disconnected spaces were transformed into a cohesive layout that feels light, functional, and welcoming.

The plans

The demolition plan

The improved plan

The approved plan focuses mainly on redesigning the rear layout of the house, while the remainder of the home will receive an update in materials and color palette. The kitchen will make better use of the current floor space, enabling a more spacious layout. Furthermore, the pantry will be converted into a charming mudroom, and a new powder room will be introduced on the first floor.

The exterior

Though the scope of the project expanded during construction—including replacing every window and repainting the entire home—the process remained remarkably smooth. The homeowners approached the project with trust and enthusiasm, working closely with the design and construction team to make thoughtful decisions throughout. Their collaborative spirit helped create a project that felt cohesive from start to finish.

The kitchen

The space was transformed into an open and highly functional kitchen designed for everyday living and entertaining. Custom cabinetry, integrated storage, and a new island dramatically expand preparation space while preserving the Craftsman character of the home through carefully considered proportions and materials.

Soft blue-green cabinetry, complemented by warm brass hardware and natural wood accents, infuses the newly expanded kitchen with a sense of warmth and craftsmanship. The addition of wicker produce drawers to the island adds an exciting touch, enhancing the space with a delightful contrast and a cozy atmosphere.

A custom cabinet beautifully balances the panel-ready fridge on the opposite side. The two frame the window/sink station.

This kitchen presented an excellent chance to maximize the functionality of every cabinet, drawer, and shelf. The addition of specialty inserts for storing cooking utensils and ingredients, conveniently located next to the oven, enhances the overall utility of the space.

The living room

At every corner of the home you see beautiful millwork. It's been restored resulting in balance and symmetry between the dining room and living room

The dining room

The newly designed dining room features a widened opening which creates a seamless relationship between the dining and kitchen spaces, allowing them to function together for everyday meals and entertaining.

The architectural opening was preserved and refreshed, while a custom-built-in replaces the hutch—creating a functional storage feature that doubles as a decorative focal point for the dining room. An enhanced fireplace makes for the perfect feature during the colder months.

The stairs underwent their own transformation with a refreshed color palette to reflect the rest of homes new transitional design.
