A Gorgeous Kitchen Trasnformation in East Greenwich, RI

This project centered on reimagining a spacious but impersonal kitchen to better suit the homeowners’ lifestyle and aesthetic preferences. After ten years in the home, the clients were ready to invest in thoughtful updates that would bring more character, warmth, and function to the space. The existing kitchen layout served them reasonably well, but they were open to exploring alternative configurations that could improve flow and better support the way they cook and entertain.

In addition to the kitchen renovation, the scope included rethinking a pair of adjacent powder rooms—an unusual layout that felt excessive for the space. We explored whether removing one could create opportunities for better functionality elsewhere. One of the top priorities was carving out space for a true mudroom. The current entry from the garage was tight and lacked the storage and transition zone the family needed, so we considered ways to reconfigure nearby space to accommodate a more practical and welcoming entry.

Finally, the existing TV hutch and wet bar cabinetry were evaluated as part of the overall update. The clients wanted to explore whether those elements could be redesigned to align with the new kitchen style or potentially eliminated altogether to simplify the living space and allow for a more cohesive design throughout the main level. This remodel was about more than just refreshing finishes—it was a chance to bring clarity, comfort, and cohesion to a home that hadn’t quite felt like theirs until now.
