A family on The East Side of Providence loved their home but didn’t love their kitchen. With a split staircase running into the kitchen and a fridge in a separate room, they were desperate for a more efficient kitchen that could handle a growing and busy family. Previously, a wall divided the kitchen from the dining room, making the kitchen feel tight and closed off. On another end of the kitchen stood a pantry at the end of the hallway, making navigating into the kitchen more difficult than necessary. Red House approached the challenge and presented an exciting solution to their pain points. We would take down the dividing wall and open the pantry to allow for open access into the kitchen from the hallway. Though they may have lost a pantry, we were sure to replace it with ample storage in the kitchen so that it is not even missed! The kitchen is stunning, with a sage green color selection on their shaker cabinets, and the gold fixtures bring the whole design together. The natural marble countertops carry that luxurious feel to the space, and the farmhouse sink reminds you that a family centers themselves here after a long day of cooking and gathering together. This kitchen is filled with natural light, elegance, and function.

Adjacent to this beautiful kitchen is a completely reimagined mudroom and powder room bridging the transition from outside in. The slate tile pairs perfectly with the white built-in bench seating and floor to ceiling dresser. Before, this space was small and cluttered. Now it is their main point of entry and functions as the perfect place to prepare for a day out. Across from the mudroom, a beautifully styled powder room welcomes you. The copper floral wallpaper is a gorgeous and bold selection that truly marks the value of design collaboration. Added some copper and gold fixtures, this space takes on the perfect balance of traditional and modern.
