Red House Wins Gold and Silver Awards at PRO New England! 

Big News at Red House! 

Last week, at their annual Evening of Excellence event, the Professional Remodeling Organization of New England (PRO New England) awarded Red House Design Build TWO(!) 2023 PRO Awards. First taking home a Silver Award in the “Kitchen Remodel Over $250,000” category, Red House capped the night off by winning the Gold Award in the “Home Addition Over $350,000.”

The winning kitchen reno was one of our most recent projects completed in Tiverton, RI. Requiring a full gut, replanning, and remodeling, the renovation first involved the removal of a structural wall and chimney. After that, our team opened up the floor plan, making the space more functional and inviting. This also made it possible to relocate the existing powder room to a more suitable location. Needless to say, after the renovation wrapped up, the space had been completely transformed, giving the 123-year-old home the breath of fresh air it needed. 

Finally, taking the gold in the Home Addition over $350K category was one of our favorite projects–and most popular. The winning 564-square-foot addition was the final phase in a multi-phased master plan implemented for our clients. The bespoke addition included a gabled roof with decorative exposed beams, a custom bar, checkerboard flooring, and a hand-carved stone mantle—a sophisticated and refined space for hosting friends and family. More about the PRO Awards

This year, 65 projects were submitted for PRO Awards across 24 categories. A panel of eleven independent reviewers judged the project entries in a blind evaluation. Projects were judged on a 70-point scale, with points awarded for how well the project met the client’s needs and enhanced the functionality and aesthetics of the space, innovative uses of materials and methods, the ability to overcome obstacles creatively, the craftsmanship displayed in the project, and the presentation of the project.
