We are excited to show off one of our favorite homes in this year’s Nest, an annual residential design magazine by Rhode Island Monthly. The spread features two projects completed by our team in one East Greenwich home – a gorgeous, light-filled kitchen and bathroom project as well as a spa-like primary bath and outdoor shower.
The kitchen space had previously been closed off by a peninsula and darker cabinetry. With a lighter palette, new custom cabinetry, vaulted ceilings, a long eat-in island, and a dedicated bar area, this kitchen remodel offered a truly custom space for this busy family.
Although a newer home, it still provided its own challenges to tailor the design to our clients’ tastes and needs.
“We are used to working on historic homes with a lot of custom details but also many hidden challenges. Typically, we would expect a newer build like this to be easier because it was built with modern methods, but that isn’t always the case. Builder-grade materials can make it so that newer homes are too cookie-cutter and don’t properly reflect the people who live inside. Upgrading a home to a true custom design and build is always an exciting opportunity. We get to make the home over with the personal details of our clients in mind and make it a special place for them to return to each day. ” – Justin Zeller, Founder and Project Developer
The primary bath was expanded by borrowing space from the garage for an extra walk-in closet. A glass walk-in shower and deep soaking tub make this room a peaceful oasis at the end of a long day.
